The Lexus TX, by comparison, features 3-zone climate control, while heated rear seats and a panoramic roof are reserved for higher trims. Both the XC90 and the TX pair their engines with an 8-speed automatic transmission and multiple drive modes, but only the Volvo includes Off-road mode. The Volvo XC90 comes standard with all-wheel drive (AWD), delivering confident traction and control on city streets, winding country roads, and slippery highways. The Lexus TX, by contrast, includes front-wheel drive as standard with AWD available only on higher trims.

Both SUVs feature adaptive damping suspensions that respond to road conditions in real time. However, the XC90’s optional active chassis and air suspension continuously adjust ride height and stiffness at an astonishing 500 times per second,, delivering a composed, controlled ride over bumps and around corners. The Lexus also offers an available adaptive variable suspension, but it doesn’t match the precision or responsiveness of Volvo’s setup.
