Volvo XC60 Maintenance: Every 10,000 Miles

With all of your drives around town, soon enough your Volvo will need to have its first oil change. This will occur at 10,000 miles. Routine oil changes should be completed once a year on your Volvo XC60.

So, why do you want to stay up to date on oil changes? Well, oil changes are important in keeping your car's engine running.

Over time, oil gets dirty as it flows throughout the engine. Dirty oil can then lead to less efficient performance and cause damage to the engine. That's why it's important to get an oil change when needed!

This is also a great time to check other fluids, including:

  • Brake fluid
  • Engine coolant
  • Antifreeze
  • Power steering fluid

Scheduling an oil change and checking on the other fluids at the recommended intervals helps ensure that your vehicle will run like new for years to come.

Volvo XC60 Maintenance: Every 20,000 Miles

As we said above, oil changes should occur every 10,000 miles. That makes the 20,000-mile milestone time for your car's next oil change as well. However, you'll want to add a few more services to the previous ones listed. They include:

  • Check and align the vehicle's fog lights and headlights
  • Check tire pressure
  • Replace cabin air filter
  • Check engine, transmission, and timing gear

If the engine or the transmission shows evidence of any leaks, this is when we'll repair it.

Volvo XC60 Maintenance: Every 40,000 Miles

Of course, the 40,000-mile interval will include the same services as above. However, there are also a few more tasks you'll need to have done to keep your Volvo XC60 in the best condition possible. For instance, you'll want to check the fuel lines and the fuel filter for leaks or damage.

You'll also want to inspect:

  • Transmission
  • Driveshaft
  • Differential

In addition, have the steering and the suspension checked for wear, change out the engine air filter, and check the brake hoses for any leaks. This will ensure your Volvo is working as intended.

Every 50,000 and 60,000 Miles

At 50,000 miles, there will be one additional service-check the automatic transmission fluid. Then, you'll also have all of the previous services done that are needed every 10,000 miles.

At 60,000 miles, however, there is an important service. This is when the spark plugs will need to be replaced. This will ensure that the engine starts properly.
